One of the first international and Olympic riders to choose a fully bespoke tailcoat was Edward Gal. He selected a handcrafted design, created entirely around his personal vision, individual preferences, and exact measurements.

Traditionally, the tailcoat was designed for formal occasions, not for the dynamic demands of dressage. This is why conventional tailcoats can show limitations in the saddle: the tails may shift, the front panels can lose their clean lines, and movement can become restricted.

My philosophy is that a tailcoat should be designed around the rider’s body and the way they move. By analysing posture, riding position, and the behaviour of the garment in the arena, I create a tailcoat that truly performs.

After the preparation phase, the true design process begins. As a tailor, I carefully take all your measurements, create a paper pattern, and develop a fabric prototype to evaluate the fit and proportions.

During this process, we discuss the personal details that make your tailcoat unique, a different button, a refined edge, or a distinctive finishing touch that no one else has. I create the design sketches, select and order the finest materials, while the prototype gradually takes shape around your individual contours.

Pinned & tailored 

Once every detail has been discussed, designed, and fitted, I begin the final stage: handcrafting your bespoke tailcoat. Step by step, the individual pieces are carefully assembled by hand, and the moment arrives when you can finally see your vision become reality.

The final fitting takes place at your stable, in my atelier, or at a competition venue, wherever is most convenient. Just as you strive for perfection in your sport, I bring the same dedication and precision to my craftsmanship. Together, we carefully check every detail to ensure the perfect fit, balance, and finish.

Would you like a custom-made tailcoat that fits perfectly and is fully tailored to your wishes? With me, you will go through a careful and personal process:

Visit my studio, or we can discuss your wishes and design options by phone. I will take your measurements and let you try on a prototype to determine the perfect fit and shape.

Based on a paper pattern, I create a prototype. During the first fitting session at your stable, we assess the prototype while you are standing, sitting, and riding. Any necessary adjustments are pinned directly onto the prototype, and the design is finalized.

After the deposit has been received, I incorporate all the adjustments and begin crafting your tailcoat in the final fabric. During a second fitting, held either at my atelier or at your stable, you will try on the tailcoat to ensure the fit and finish are exactly as intended..

I perfect the final details and ensure a flawless finish. After payment has been completed, you can collect the tailcoat or have it shipped. If required, we can schedule a final fitting upon collection.
